DAY 2: URUMQI - BURQIN

Traveling along the S21 Internet Celebrity Desert Road, you'll be treated to a spectacular variety of landscapes, including deserts, canyons, wetlands, Danxia formations, mountains, and lakes. One of the highlights along the way is Ulungu Lake, also known as "Brentuo Sea" and "Fuhai," located in the northern part of the Junggar Basin. Nicknamed the "Gobi Sea," this lake is renowned for its beautiful surroundings and the famous Fuhai fish, with scenic farmland stretching along the lakeside road. Another remarkable stop is the Irtysh River, the only river in China that flows into the Arctic Ocean. Spanning a total length of 2,969 kilometers—546 of which lie within China—it is Xinjiang’s second-largest river and is often referred to as a "poplar gene bank" due to its ecological richness. Finally, don’t miss Wucaiwan, where vibrant, multicolored rock formations meet ancient Silk Road relics, creating a captivating fusion of natural beauty and historical charm.

DAY 3: BURQIN - HEMU - JIADENGYU

Passing through the Agonggeti Grassland, you'll encounter a stunning alpine landscape rich in diverse flora, fauna, and vibrant wetland ecosystems. This area also offers a glimpse into traditional Kazakh nomadic culture, making it an ideal destination for sightseeing, birdwatching, and experiencing authentic grassland life. A highlight of the journey is Hemu Village (includes shuttle bus), located along the banks of Kanas Lake in Burqin County, Xinjiang. This charming village is one of the few remaining settlements of the Tuva people, preserving their unique cultural heritage. Nearby, the Hemu River flows through a breathtaking landscape framed by snow-capped mountains and clear, sparkling waters, making it one of Xinjiang’s scenic gems. Visiting Tuva Village offers another rare opportunity to witness the lifestyle of this ethnic group, as it is one of only three Tuva villages that still exist today. Don’t miss the Observation Deck, where you can soak in panoramic views of the stunning natural surroundings and capture the perfect photos of the sweeping skyline.

DAY 4: JIADENGYU - KANAS - JIADENGYU

The Kanas Scenic Area (includes shuttle bus) is a breathtaking alpine destination featuring a crystal-clear lake that mirrors the surrounding mountains. The lake’s color shifts with the changing seasons and weather, displaying mesmerizing shades of blue and green that add to its charm. One of the most iconic spots within the area is Moon Bay, where Kanas Lake curves gracefully through a lush canyon, resembling a crescent moon and captivating countless visitors. Just 10 kilometers away lies Wolong Bay, a serene lake encircled by dense forests, blooming wildflowers, and soft green grass, with a picturesque island at its center. Another gem is Shenxian Bay, a peaceful shoal formed by Kanas Lake, where sunlight reflects off the water like scattered pearls—earning it the nickname "Pearl Beach." For the most spectacular views, head to the Fish Viewing Pavilion, the top vantage point in the area, offering sweeping panoramas of Kanas’s enchanting landscape.

[Warm reminder]: Entry to the Fish Viewing Pavilion requires a successful same-day reservation.

DAY 5: JIADENGYU - BURQIN - KARAMAY

The Urho Devil City (includes electric car) is a unique geological wonder set in the heart of the vast Gobi Desert. When strong winds sweep through this otherworldly landscape of bizarre rock formations and jagged peaks, they create eerie, howling sounds that echo across the terrain—resembling the chilling roar of a devil. This natural phenomenon, combined with the dramatic scenery, gives the area its haunting and unforgettable name.

DAY 6: KARAMAY - DUSHANZI

Heiyoushan Park offers a striking and unusual landscape where oil sands continuously seep crude oil from the surface, forming dramatic black oil hills. This natural phenomenon represents the deep-rooted petroleum culture of Karamay and makes for a truly distinctive sight. Not far away, the Dushanzi Grand Canyon impresses with its breathtaking natural scenery and rich geological formations. Known for its dramatic rock layers and vibrant color contrasts, the canyon is a favorite spot for adventure seekers and photography enthusiasts alike. Another highlight in the region is the Duku Highway Zero Kilometer Monument, marking the starting point of the famous Duku Highway. Spanning approximately 561 kilometers between Dushanzi and Kuqa, this iconic road cuts through the majestic Tianshan Mountains, offering ever-changing climates and some of the most stunning natural views in all of Xinjiang.

DAY 7: DUSHANZI - YINING

Sailimu Lake is the highest-altitude and largest alpine lake in Xinjiang, renowned for its breathtaking natural beauty. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains and grasslands, it is also the easternmost point reached by the warm, moist air currents from the Atlantic Ocean, adding to its unique climate and charm. Along the journey, don’t miss the view of Guozigou Bridge, an engineering marvel stretching over 700 meters. With a construction cost of 2.39 billion yuan—averaging over 3.4 million yuan per extended meter—it has earned the title of the “richest bridge in China,” offering both impressive scale and spectacular views.

DAY 8: YINING - NALATI

Passing by the Gongnaisi River, often referred to as the mother river of the people of Xinyuan County, you'll witness a lifeline that stretches 230 kilometers through the region. Continuing the journey, you'll arrive at the breathtaking Nalati Grassland, one of the most stunning alpine grasslands in China, known for its vast openness and vibrant greenery. Nearby, the river valley grassland unfolds with gently rolling terrain, intersected by winding rivers. This expansive landscape, set against a backdrop of clear blue skies and drifting white clouds, offers a truly magnificent and serene view of nature’s grandeur.

DAY 9: NALATI - YINING

Six Star Street is a distinctive urban layout where three streets intersect at a central circular hub, extending outward into six main roads that divide the area into six fan-shaped sections. This unique design creates a visually striking and navigable cityscape. While exploring the area, don’t miss the chance to try Russian-style ice cream, known for its rich milky aroma, silky texture, and delicate taste. Made primarily from milk, cream, sugar, and eggs, its special production process sets it apart as a local favorite. Another cultural highlight is Kazanqi Folk Street, a vibrant showcase of Uyghur heritage. This street offers an authentic glimpse into traditional Uyghur life, blending deep cultural roots with colorful local customs and architecture.

DAY 10: YINING - URUMQI

After your train journey back to Urumqi, your luggage will be sent ahead to Urumqi earlier for your convenience. While in the city, be sure to visit the Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar, a renowned cultural and commercial hub. Famous for its vibrant atmosphere and diverse range of merchandise, it serves as a key destination that blends business, culture, and tourism, offering visitors a unique experience of Xinjiang’s rich heritage and colorful local crafts.

DAY 11: URUMQI - KUALA LUMPUR

Red Mountain Park is a striking natural wonder composed of purple-red sandstone, formed by the gradual deposition of the continent's natural environment about 250 million years ago. This rich geological history is what gives the mountain its name, "Red Mountain." Not far from here, the Yema Ancient Ecological Park offers a fascinating mix of natural and cultural attractions. It houses China’s largest sweat-blooded horse base, a Jurassic silicified wood forest, a meteorite group, and an ancient Populus euphratica forest.
